Dr. Hastings completed a dual residency in internal medicine and pediatrics and then fellowship in both pediatric and internal medicine nephrology. She has a dual faculty appointment at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in the Department of Medicine and Department of Pediatrics. She currently serves as the program director for the nephrology fellowship program.
