It's a new day in
kidney care.
Welcome to AKHOMM Continuing Education!
At AKHOMM, we are committed to advancing care for individuals living with chronic kidney disease (CKD).
We are excited to introduce our newest curriculum: Management of CKD Caused by Glomerular Diseases. Participants will explore the evolution of care—moving from traditional broad-spectrum immunosuppression to novel, targeted therapies—all while centering on the lived experiences of the patient.
New Course Modules Now Available
As a leading cause of CKD, early identification of glomerular disease is vital to slowing progression. This module covers screening essentials—including eGFR, UACR, and hematuria—and emphasizes the unique burden these diseases place on the patient.
Effective management of GN historically relied on broad-spectrum protocols. This foundational look at traditional regimens—such as the Ponticelli regimen, steroids, and cyclophosphamide—reviews their role in stabilizing patients.
The landscape of GN treatment is evolving rapidly with the introduction of targeted therapies. This module bridges the gap between traditional medicine and modern pharmacology, focusing on agents designed to reduce the toxicities associated with older regimens.
IgA Nephropathy (IgAN) treatment has shifted toward mechanism-based care. This deep dive explores the "4-hit hypothesis" and examines the latest evidence for emerging treatments like budesonide (delayed-release), sparsentan, atrasentan, and iptacopan.
