Dr. Grabe is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Strategic Partnerships at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He is an alumnus of Albany College of Pharmacy where he also completed a Nephrology/Internal Medicine residency and a Nephrology Fellowship. Dr. Grabe’s area of practice and research is Nephrology where he focuses on patients with chronic kidney disease Stages 1-5 with primary attention to those not yet on dialysis.

Clinical Approach and Emerging Therapeutics for FSGS
Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a rare but significant disease that has caused clinical confusion for decades. Fortunately, the past decade has yielded monumental progress in our understanding of its underlying mechanisms. With the landmark April 2026 FDA approval of sparsentan—the very first drug indicated specifically for FSGS—there has never been a more critical or perfect time for this course.
Because managing this evolving landscape requires seamless collaboration, this module specifically focuses on an interprofessional team approach to treating FSGS, leveraging the distinct and overlapping expertise of nephrologists and clinical pharmacists to optimize patient outcomes.
