Dr. Fravel is an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist and have practiced in the area of chronic kidney disease for 20 years. Bridging academia and clinical practice, her career is rooted in translating complex clinical data into actionable, evidence-based care strategies. In her faculty role, she routinely produces and delivers high-impact, evidence-based presentations designed to elevate the clinical skills of pharmacists.

Today treating patients with overlapping cardiovascular, kidney and metabolic (CKM) syndrome is top of mind. While our therapeutic toolkit has expanded, the real and perceived risks of hyperkalemia frequently act as barriers to prescribing foundational Goal-Directed Medication Therapies (GDMT).
This module addresses the shifting landscape of cardiovascular risk factors-specifically the rising epidemics of obesity, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and type 2 diabetes-and explores how an interdisciplinary approach can manage serum potassium levels without sacrificing life-saving, disease-modifying therapies.
